NEW CLINIC NOW OPEN
Rowville Physiotherapy is proud to announce that our new facility is now operational. In addition to our previous services offered we now have a larger and improved gym offering an extended range of wellness programs and rehabilitation options.
NEW SERVICES
Clinical Pilates
Pilates can improve general health, pain level, sports functioning, flexibility and proprioception in individuals with chronic low back pain (Gladwell,V et al, 2006). The new gym is equipped with a reformer and trapeze table for one-on-one pilates assessment and rehabilitation programs. We also run group mid-week pilates classes at the new Rowville Anglican Church on the corner of Kelletts Rd and Taylors Lane.
Vibration plate
This new piece of equipment is used for advanced proprioceptive retraining post muscle or joint injuries. Research supports it’s use to increase bone density post fracture or in the osteoporotic and post-menopausal population. (Narcís Gusi. N, Raimundo. A, Leal. A. BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. 2006)
ADDITIONAL SERVICES AVAILABLE
Real-time ultrasound
Use of ultrasound imaging has been successfully incorporated in assessment and facilitation strategies for the transversus abdominus and multifidus muscles in low back pain patients (Hides and Richardson 1998). Also used by our woman’s health specialist for management of woman’s health issues including pre and postnatal pain management.
Graded Motor Imagery
“Graded motor imagery has been shown to offer substantial gains in pain and disability for people with pathological pain syndromes such as CRPS." (Moseley, Pain, 2008). Rowville Physiotherapy combines GMI with the most up to date evidence based treatments for CRPS.
Preggy Fitness Classes
Conducted by our woman's health specialist this one hour class helps our patients maintain fitness in a safe and controlled environment.
Video analysis
Video analysis equipment for running, riding or athletic function (i.e bowling, throwing). Including wide-screen playback for patient education and retraining.
Bike set-up
Analysis of bike set-up as treatment or prevention of riding related injuries.
Gait scan
The most accurate form of biomechanical assessment for the foot and ankle. The gait scan is a pressure plate that measures changes in force during stance phase of gait. From these scans our physiotherapists can identify biomechanical abnormalities and if necessary prescribe custom made orthotics.
We have had exceptional success with the use of the gait scan in treatment of
