Each of our clinicians has spent their entire career working in private practice. Our staff participate in regular continuing education and professional development courses to ensure that their clinical skills and knowledge are kept up to date with the latest research.

 

STUART CANAVAN Physiotherapist/Clinic Director (B. Physio)

StuartStuart is a 1994 graduate from La Trobe University and is the clinic director. He has spent his entire career in private practice and has developed a special interest and extensive experience in the management of chronic and complex pain syndromes. He is a former university instructor (Medical University of South Carolina, University of Kentucky), a Level 1 Triathlon Coach and remains very active as a triathlete. Stuart has extensive experience in the management of running related injuries, particularly persistent or re-occurring sources of leg pain.

Stuart works closely with Rowville Sports Academy Soccer Team, and has close involvement with the Knox Triathlon Club as both a physiotherapist and an athlete.

 

 

KATHRYN LEGGO Physiotherapist (B. Physio)

KathrynKathryn graduated from La Trobe University as a physiotherapist in 2004 and has spent her entire career in private practice. She has extensive experience in the management of musculoskeletal problems. Kathryn has a keen interest in women’s health and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy). She has extensive training in the use of Real Time Ultrasound for assessing the function of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles.

Kathryn conducts a weekly exercise class for pregnant and post natal women, as well as a weekly pilates class.

 

 

 

BUSBY BURFIELD Bachelor of Physiotherapist (B. Physio)

Burfield Busby graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2007, being awarded the Menzies College Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

Busby's interests lie in the injury management of adolescents, especially those involved in elite sports teams. He is focused on injury prevention through correction of biomechanical factors, as well as strength and fitness training. Busby also has an interest in pelvic and shoulder dysfunction, and integrates the use of Dry Needling and Mulligan's techniques to treat patients suffering from cervicogenic headaches and migraines.

Busby enjoys water and snow skiing and plays hockey for a State League team. He also works closely with the Rowville Sports Academy Golf Team.

 

LAURA ANDERSON

greg Laura graduated from LaTrobe Univeristy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Laura has a keen interest in Musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. In the past she has worked with both Australian Rules and Rugby League football clubs. She has a particular interest in the use of Dry Needling for myofascial pain and and the application of Kinesio Tape for injury rehabilitation

 

 

 

REBEKAH KAMINSKI Myotherapist Adv. Dip. Myotherapy

Rebekah Rebekah graduated as a myotherapist in 2005. She has worked extensively with the Richmond football club and the Victorian cricket team. She works closely with the physiotherapist at Rowville Physiotherapy and has extensive experience in sports, therapeutic, deep tissue and relaxation massage.

 

 

 

 

 

DEAN GUNAWARDANA Clinical Myotherapist

dean Dean graduated from the Southern School of Natural Therapies in 2008. His interests lie in the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal and myofascial pain, specialising in soft tissue conditions. He is interested in injury prevention through the correction of postural and/or biomechanical factors, in addition to correcting imbalances in the musculoskeletal system.

Dean aims to work closely with the team of physiotherapists in order to deliver the highest standard of holistic care for his patients.

Dean also has experience with sporting clubs, particularly cricket, football, basketball and tennis. He personally has participated in football and tennis and currently plays First XI premier cricket.

STEPHEN McADAM

deanStephen recently graduated as a physiotherapist from La Trobe University. He has a keen interest in sports and spinal physiotherapy. Stephen has had experience working with AFL and hockey teams and is currently the physiotherapist for the Knox Little Athletics Centre. Stephen is qualified in dry needling and implements this into his treatment and management of patients to reduce and prevent myofascial pain.
He enjoys basketball, football and running and is currently working with elite junior athletes at the Rowville Sports Academy.

STACEY TUCKER

deanStacey graduated from La Trobe University in 2009 with a bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). Her honours research involved measuring pressures in clinical test positions of shoulder impingement. Stacey has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. In particular Stacey's interests lie in the management of acute and chronic spinal pain, shoulder dysfunction and clinical pilates. Stacey has worked with both soccer and AFL teams in the past and is keen to continue working with sporting clubs in the future. Her sporting background includes years of competetive netball, tennis and swimming.

KIDD LEONG

deanKidd recently graduated from Latrobe University and has a particular interest in treating musculoskeletal conditions, fractures and sporting injuries. His passion is in sport and his background includes competitive and recreational basketball, football and soccer. Kidd has experience working with two senior soccer clubs, and he has worked in community rehabilitation and enjoys helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
